This is the third writing competition that Year 3 children have entered with Young Writers. The children were writing their own poems about dreams. I am delighted to announce that 16 children have been selected and will have their entries published in a book in the Autumn. This competition received over 12,000 entries from across the country.
We will have to wait and see if we win any prizes for the best entry or the most amount of entries from one school. We will find out in the Autumn. The children are busy working away on the next writing competition and hopefully some may be selected in that as well!
For their homework in the Spring Term children in Year 3, McGivern Class, entered a poetry competition with Young Writers. They needed to create their own, original poems. There were 20,000 entries submitted from Primary School children from across the country. Thirteen children’s poems from McGivern Class have been chosen to be printed in a poetry book. The book will be out in the summer and there will be a copy at the school.
As if that weren’t exciting enough, there is the possibility of the best poems receiving prizes and the school.
More updates to come as we receive more news.
On the morning of Tuesday 20th November 2018 Year 3 visited the Balham and Tooting Mosque. We traveled by two buses and dealt with heavy rain, but that didn’t dampen the children’s enthusiasm. The children had an extensive tour of the Mosque and had lots of questions to ask which were answered in detail. Fun was had by all and we all left having learnt something new.
